International Ballet Festival Bansko 2019

Between 04-06 January 2019 Community Center "Nikola Vaptsarov" for the fifth consecutive year will host the International Ballet Festival in Bansko. Bansko Municipality grants 450 000 leva for cultural events and festivals in 2019.

In order to preserve and promote the glory of Bansko as mountain resort № 1 in Bulgaria, the Municipal Council decided to grant BGN 450 000 to finance the cultural events and festivals provided for in the Culture Program for 2019. The events are many and they attract with each passing year more and more tourists in all seasons. The purpose of local government is to transform the resort into a year-round favorite destination.

Already on January 4 started ballet festival in the city under the peak Todorka. The traditional theatrical festival will be in June. The Cultural Evenings "Traditions and Art" initiative, which will continue until the beginning of September, is also launched. July is full of events: Winter Cinemania "Snow cinema", Music Festival, Festival of Bulgarian Folklore "Folklore Magic"  and the Summer Cinemania under the stars.

The 22nd International Jazz Festival will again delight lovers of this music genre in August. Then will be held in the resort and Opera Festival. The growing Bansko “Balkan Fest Festival” for Balkan Music will be held in September. The cultural program of Bansko Municipality will continue in November with the Mountain Film Festival and will end the same month with the International Art Festival "Morning Star".

The local parliament decided that the amount should be included in the funds for Cultural Program of Bansko municipality for 2019 and authorized the mayor Georgi Ikonomov to take the necessary actions for organizing and realization of all these cultural events and festivals.
