“Guest House” Action: Acts of Over BGN 10 mln. are Collected.

First results of the mass check of guest houses built with European money. A total of over BGN 10 million has been drawn up. The investigation began after a series of scandals, including a property in Sandanski of the former Deputy Minister of Economy Alexander Manolev.

The action started on the orders of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov. All guest houses built in our country will be tested. These are over 700 projects, each of which is funded at around 130,000 euros. So far, approximately 18% of sites have already been inspected.

Frapping disorders has also been detected. In 32 of the houses, violations have been detected, suggesting that the entire amount is returned.

"All houses will be checked, regardless of whether some of them have run out of the monitoring period. Even if it has expired, the object will be monitored. Verification will be done precisely during this monitoring period. If a report is omitted, financial corrections and a full refund will be imposed, "said Agriculture Minister Rumen Porozhanov.

Since last week, teams have been working. Checks are carried out on sites that will cover all houses in full volume. Checks are made in the municipalities on whether a tax has been paid. There will be a check of contractors and builders, "Interior Minister Mladen Marinov said.

The prime minister pointed out that the program was intended to support tourism and many of the houses were used as intended. "Unfortunately, there is always someone to defraud the program and so to this day we do not open the new program," said Borisov.
