Bansko became Bulgaria's No. 1 ski resort for the sixth time

For the sixth consecutive year Bansko was named the resort №1 in Bulgaria by the highest instance in the tourism industry in general. He received recognition from the Ski World Academy of Kitzbühel in the Austrian Alps, ranking among the 26 best destinations in the world.

The 16-week online race, which ran from the first Friday of June to the 22nd of September, featured 208 top locations across five continents, and over 2 million people from more than 143 countries took part in the vote.

Bansko is among the eight places in the world with a full set of six prizes from the six editions of the World Ski Awards. The 10-thousandth town is at the top of the ranking since 2013.

The highest point of the ski center is 2560 m and the lowest is 1000 m. There are 75 km of ski runs in Bansko, 35% for beginners, 40% for advanced and 25% for experienced skiers and snowboarders. Equipped with artificial snow machines are 80% of the tracks. The ski center also offers a 16 km ski track equipped with artificial snow and lighting machines connecting the high parts of the resort with the city. There is also a cabin lift with capacity of up to 8 people, a six-seat lift, six 4-chair lifts, one 3-seat lift, six ski lifts and ten children's ski lifts.
