Plovdiv is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, with a history spanning more than 6,000 years. Known for its unique Old Town, Roman remains, and colorful Revival architecture, the city combines ancient heritage with a lively modern atmosphere.
Bachkovo Monastery isthe second largest monastery in Bulgaria, founded in the 11th century and located in the scenic Rhodope Mountains. It is an important spiritual center, famous for its beautiful frescoes and the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary “Troeruchitsa” (13th century), attracting visitors and pilgrims from all over the world.
Excursion program
06:30 a.m. – Departure from Sunny Beach.
Arrival in Plovdiv.
Walking tour through the Old Town, featuring cobblestone streets, traditional houses, and historical landmarks from different eras. Free time for photos and individual exploration.
Lunch.
Departure to Bachkovo Monastery.
Sightseeing tour of the monastery complex, including the main church and courtyards. Opportunity to see the miraculous icon “Troeruchitsa”, light a candle, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Free time.
04:00 p.m. – Departure back to Sunny Beach.
